Retainers and Lifetime Guarantee

Retainer

The function of your retainers is to hold teeth in their proper positions after braces are removed. It is necessary to wear a retainer in order to keep your teeth straight.

Wear Time
You are instructed to wear your retainer, starting 12 hours a day for the first 8 weeks. You should only wear your retainers at home, not to school or out to a friend’s house. After the initial 8 week period of 12 hour wear, you will be instructed to reduce the wear time to 8 hours or when you are sleeping.

Care
Retainers should be stored in their case when they are not in your mouth. Brush your retainer with your toothbrush every time you take it out. Keep your retainer in a safe spot where you will remember to put it in every night. If retainers are lost or broken there is a replacement fee. Please bring your retainers, to every appointment.

If retainers do not fit please call us to schedule an appointment for a new retainer. If you lose or break them please call the office to have them replaced. If the retainer feels loose call to schedule a visit to have them adjusted.
